I cannot say enough good things about the Walton Hotel Galata. Huge thank you to Zeynep, the owner, who was so warm and friendly, and the staff working during breakfast. Salim and Cihan were wonderful as well - so welcoming and incredibly kind and helpful. The location is great, too. The Galata area is not easily accessible by car, and not the easiest to get around for those with mobility issues (likely true for most areas in central Istanbul). However, I loved the neighbourhood and being in a central part of the city, but without being right in the Old Town (which is beautiful but a bit chaotic and even more touristy - I definitely preferred Beyoğlu/Galata). Also, the breakfast is absolutely worth it - I have hesitated at some other hotels because I thought I might prefer to get going a bit earlier and find breakfast in the city. However, here it is a huge, delicious Turkish breakfast - try the shakshuka (slightly spicy Turkish scrambled eggs) and sip a Turkish tea while enjoying the incredible views of the Istanbul skyline. I can’t wait to come back and do it again.

Plus, it’s conveniently close to the city center and other major tourist attractions, allowing for effortless sightseeing. The place was in a very convenient neighborhood to commute to all the sights and eat good food! It’s literally around the corner of the Galata tower! The room was extremely clean and beautifully equipped! All the staff was incredibly nice and helpful! Especially the owner took the time to talk to us or help us out. She was very warm and authentically welcoming! We received a WiFi device for free to carry around for the whole trip. This way we didn’t have to buy SIM card, which was very thoughtful! The breakfast was very big and delicious. One night we were hanging out at the bar talking to the bar tender and he was really excited to show us the roof top for the incredible view. We loved staying at the Walton Galata and felt very comfortable. Thank you to all the staff. We are looking forward to coming back!
